Cherry was born and bred in Horsham, West Sussex. In her youth, she dreamt of studying dress design at college, but her traditional parents didn't give their approval. Cherry went on to channel her creative passion into her own boutique before becoming a full-time mother.
Cherry pursued art later in life, once her children became independent. Studying as a mature student, and then proceeding to take recreational courses whenever the opportunity arose. Although she now regularly exhibits, and sells work via her website, she still seeks short-courses to enhance skills and learn new techniques.
Working mainly in acrylics or oils, Cherry enjoys creating portraiture, seascapes and landscapes. Her work incorporates light, reflections, water and occasional humour. The amusing new range of artworks that capture characterful seagulls provide Cherry with a mental rest from the concentration of her other artwork and make her smile whenever she sees them.
Cherry has always sold greetings cards to accompany her art, and this year she has concentrated on increasing her card portfolio. She has made a very big effort to make her art affordable to all. Excitingly, a collection of eye-catching umbrellas have also been made to complement her Seagull Range.
Having spent much of her time caring for children, parents and beautiful grandchildren, Cherry is now revelling in having the time and space to indulge her passion.
