The changes in card buying habits during lockdown, with many sending a card to say ‘thinking of you’, ‘sending a hug’, ‘thankyou NHS’ etc, and the fact that many remain at least partially isolated, mean that this year offers us an huge opportunity to promote this season and encourage card sending.
We will keep you updated with our plans but to date:
Everyone in the card community – please let’s kick off this season by sending a card to a friend, and include a second card plus envelope for the recipient send on, to hopefully start a wave of card sending. Please do get your teams involved with this.
The GCA is working on a 1 minute video to promote ToYW which we can all use on social media. You can use this to promote your own competition, perhaps encouraging customers to share their ToY stories, make their own video, or similar?
Many large retailers are joining in too which will help to raise the profile for us all.
The Royal Mail is supporting us with a stamp cancelling mark and social media support
Free retail POS, produced by Abbot Print, will be sent out in the August edition of Progressive Greetings for independent retailers to use – the GCA has a few spare so do get in touch if you need a few extra. firstname.lastname@example.org
Why not run a competition for your followers on social media – the GCA has guidelines and suggested rules on running competitions on social media, see our Member’s library.
The toolkit is now available on our Thinking of You Week website. Also do look at our website for other ideas https://www.thinkingofyouweek.cards/get-involved/ – and keep sending in your cards for our Gallery to Will at email@example.com
