Amanda has worked in the UK greeting card industry for over 25 years, and was appointed as Chief Executive of the UK Greeting Card Association in December 2018, a role that provided the opportunity for Amanda to give something back to an industry that she is passionate about.
“While still at school I worked as a Saturday girl in a card shop, and have been an avid card sender ever since. I loved helping customers find the right card for the recipient; and I’m not alone – the British are nation of card senders with our card design and innovation leading the world.” said Amanda
Previously Amanda was sales and marketing director at Caroline Gardner, contributing to a period of exciting growth in an innovative design-led card and gift company supplying leading national and independent retailers. Prior to that Amanda held senior roles at Hallmark Cards UK, and The Andrew Brownsword Collection, creators of the Forever Friends bears.
In the early part of her career Amanda had her own business importing and distributing products, and latterly again as a business consultant and mentor. She has served as a non-executive director for a manufacturing business and as a Council Member for both the Greeting Card Association and the Giftware Association. Outside the business world Amanda works voluntarily at a female prison as a member of the Independent Monitoring Board.
