Mortlake Papers was founded in the summer of 2023 by award-winning illustrator Alice Lickens.
Each design starts life as a drawing, collage, or painting made by Alice in her studio in Mortlake, South London. The artwork is digitised so that every brushstroke, inked line and texture is visible in the finished product. Our cards are both playful and tactile, and each one is proudly designed and made in the UK.Â
We’re proud to print on FSC-certified recycled paper, paired with vegan, recycled envelopes free from animal glues and pigments. Our packaging is entirely plastic-free and compostable — part of our commitment to tread as lightly on the planet as possible.
