Festive Friday is the day when everyone in the greeting card industry, and card lovers everywhere, send their Christmas cards. Receiving Christmas cards reminds people to send theirs; so Festive Friday starts the annual exchange of Christmas cards!
Festive Friday 2025 is on Friday, 28th November!
Why Festive Friday Matters
Our #Cardmitment campaign celebrates the magic of sending and receiving cards, and encourages everyone to make cards part of their seasonal traditions and decorations. This year, we’re asking everyone to buy and send their Christmas cards early—and help spread the joy far and wide.
Lead the way
We in the greetings card industry are leading by example. We’re encouraging everyone to:
Write cards in November
Post them 2nd Class on 28th November to start the festive wave
Let Danielle know if you’re donating—we’re aiming to cover the country!
Spreading the word
Our #Cardmitment campaign is reaching out to the media and a wide network of influencers to share the joy of card sending with people across the country.
In a time when many are craving meaningful, personal connections, we’re encouraging everyone to reconnect with loved ones through the simple, heartfelt act of sending a card. It’s a small gesture that brings festive cheer and joy at Christmas.
Festive Friday logo design
The branding for Festive Friday 2025 was created by Wendy Jones-Blackett, a GCA Council Member and co-owner of Wendy Jones-Blackett Ltd, alongside her husband Steve. Wendy’s contemporary design style has earned them nine Henries awards.
How to get involved
Festive Friday kicks off the Christmas season, see what happened in 2020, and 2021 for ideas on how to get involved.
Want to join the movement? Here’s how:
Organise a Festive Friday or #Cardmitment event at your workplace, school, charity, or community group
Host a card-writing session—provide cards and postage, and send them all out on the day
Share your plans with us so we can amplify them on social media and in the trade
Remember: The more cards people receive, the more they send. Let’s start the season with a wave of warmth and connection.
