Inspiring the Next Generation: Card Club Comes to Life

Card Club is a GCA initiative designed to inspire the next generation of card senders. Through fun, creative activities and classroom resources, Card Club helps children discover the joy of sending and receiving cards—building connection, kindness, and creativity along the way.

One of the first schools to launch Card Club is Milverton Primary in Leamington Spa.

On Monday 24 November, GCA member Rebecca Green, co-founder of card designer Raspberry Blossom, set up two Card Club sessions at her children’s local school, aimed at Year Five students. The sessions involved creating handmade Christmas cards with special messages for loved ones.

Rebecca from Raspberry Blossom said:

  • “It was such a heart-warming experience visiting Milverton Primary School to support the Card Club with two Year Five sessions. The children loved talking about who they send cards to and all the different occasions they celebrate.

Many were eager to design cards for friends and family, personalising them with drawings and messages that held special meaning for the recipient. It wasn’t just Christmas cards being created, there were ‘just because’ cards for grandparents, and cards for siblings celebrating recent sports achievements.

Seeing the children smiling, engaged, and excited about sending cards was truly lovely, and it felt as though we’d sparked a little wave of card-giving among their friends and families.”

The Card Club is part of the Greeting Card Association’s #Cardmitment campaign to encourage everyone to make a commitment to send cards.

Teachers, parents, and children are encouraged to join the Card Club and discover the joy of sending heartfelt messages.
