The 2025 #Cardmitment Toolkit is here to help you and your customers celebrate the joy of sending cards—and encourage everyone to write and send them early this festive season!
We in the card industry need to lead by example – we’re asking everyone to write their cards in November, and also to work within their community to have cards ready to post by 28th November to start that first wave of card sending!
See how to get involved below. Also the GCA’s toolkit, which includes banners, posters, leaflets social media logos, is available to download below!
Cardmitment Challenge
As part of this year’s campaign, we’re inviting everyone to take part in the #CardmitmentChallenge—a fun and creative way to encourage early card writing.
Inspired by Pam from Gavin & Stacey, the challenge is to create your own spoof reel where Pam urges people to get their Christmas cards written and ready to send early.
It’s a brilliant way to bring humour and energy to your social media in the run-up to the festive season. Head to the blog for step-by-step instructions on how to create your Pam-style reel and get involved!
Festive Friday
Festive Friday 2025 is on the 28th of November. Festive Friday is the day when everyone in the greeting card industry, and card lovers everywhere, send their Christmas cards. Receiving Christmas cards reminds people to send theirs; so Festive Friday starts the annual exchange of Christmas cards! Find out more here!

Caring at Christmas
Caring at Christmas started in November 2022, when Matt Genower, of Five Dollar Shake, had the wonderful idea of bringing Christmas cards into their local care homes, helping the residents write cards to their loved ones and get the Christmas spirit underway! It was so well received that we rolled it out across in 2023 and 2024 with GCA members across the country getting involved… And in 2025 we’d love to see the tradition upheld and help start a wave of Christmas card sending!
We now have a number of care homes wanting to be connected with GCA members! We’d love to see this initiative spread further this year and also help generate media interest and buzz around the campaign. It’s not too late to get involved – there are care homes all around the country who would love to take part. Here is our guide on how to get involved.

The Write Before Christmas
The Write Before Christmas is an initiative to engage your community, and bring people together to write their Christmas cards.
The tagline was the brainwave of GCA member Sarah Laker, owner of award winning retailer Stationery Supplies, with stores in Marple and Wilmslow and online at Giraffe Gifts
The GCA would like to see everyone in the industry coming together, perhaps teaming up with another local business and running their own The Write Before Christmas Event. It can be whatever works for your community, and will remind everyone about the joy of connecting with friends and family at Christmas. Want to find out more!
