We are a specialist intellectual property law firm. We work with the creative industries and any other business who has intellectual property as a core asset. We have been established since 2005 and deal with enforcement, protection and commercialisation of IP rights and also advise on related areas (e.g. contract issues and competition).
What products or services do you provide to the greeting card industry?
Legal services, we can deal with protection of rights, through trade mark and design registrations, and we also advise on unregistered rights such as copyright, which is particularly pertinent in the greetings card industry. We can also advise on and draft contracts and deal with enforcement where infringements occur.
What makes your business stand out?
We are rated specialist experts (Chambers and Legal 500 tier 1 ranked) and we are a small team who values long term relationships with clients. Most likely you have met us or seen us at industry events before. The most important thing to us is to establish good, long-term relationships.
What do you enjoy most about working within the greeting card industry?
The friendliness of the industry really stands out over others we are involved in. It is a great sector with a strong design community producing individual creative works.
What are you most looking forward to at this year’s GCA Conference & AGM?
Catching up with established connections within the industry and also meeting new ones.
Is there anything exciting coming up that you’d like GCA members to know about?
Since the last AGM we have had more success for clients in court proceedings, with a successful outcome achieved in the Court of Appeal earlier this year.
