In this edition of Meet the Member, Okey Dokey Desigs Ltd explain how they are trying to fill an artistic gap with their whimsical designs.

Who set up the company and why?
Okey Dokey Design was set up by Samantha Marando in 2019. After completing an illustration degree Samantha spent many years working in the creative industry as a greeting card designer, product designer and a design manager for other companies before she decided to set up her own venture. And that is when Okey Dokey Design was born!
Samantha felt there was a gap in the market for her style of paintings and illustrations which are often described as whimsical with a modern twist. Samantha is certainly not afraid to design busy greeting cards which are full of colour and plenty of things to look at!
What is the Unique Selling Point of your business? What makes your products particularly special?
Creating high quality products that last the test of time are important to us as a company. It is key that are products are not only pretty to look at but are functional too. Sustainability is at the heart of our business. Our paper is FSC certified, our kraft envelopes are made from recycled paper & our packaging is all plastic free. We are not perfect, but we try to be the best we can be. Everything is designed, manufactured & dispatched in the UK, from our little studio in Surrey. We like it this way, as it means we can check each & every order before it gets sent out.
Tell us about one of your best-selling greeting cards?
Our new ‘River Wey’ collection has done extremely well for us. We showed it for the first time at the London Stationery Show a few weeks ago and everyone was quite excited by it!
Because of the bold, navy background on the cards it really stands out on the card shelves. The collection was inspired by the River Wey in Surrey, that we are fortunate enough to have our office back onto. It is a constant inspiration for Samantha, being surround by all the river flora and fauna.
How do you sell your products?
We sell our products online from our own website – www.okeydokeydesign.com
We also sell wholesale from our dedicated wholesale website. You can also find us online at Not On The High Street as well as stocked in many boutique gift shops across the UK. If you are interested in stocking Okey Dokey Design greeting cards in your shop, we would love to hear from you!
What do you like most about the industry?
We love how friendly the greeting card industry is and also how small it feels. You start to bump into the same familiar faces at shows and events which is always great. It starts to feel a bit like your second family. It’s definitely a friendly industry to work in.
Is there anything else that you would like to add/highlight?
We are constantly releasing new ranges and exciting collections that are on trend but with an Okey Dokey Design twist. So please keep checking us out! We are excited to be a part of the GCA group!
