Thinking of You Week, 21 – 27 September 2015, inspires people to send a card a day to create a wave of love, caring, and happiness around the world during this week.
Thinking of You Week 2015 – the GCA’s campaign to create a wave of love, caring and happiness through encouraging people to send a card a day during the week of September 21-27 – is off to a cracking start, with awareness set to soar in what is only the second year of the event.
We’d like everyone to be involved – retailers, publishers, crafters, suppliers, schools, charities and individuals, all organising events and activities to promote the Week and help create the feel-good wave!
Our extra special free Thinking of You Week toolkit is further down this page – it includes our beautiful banner, flyer and event poster, social media cover images, email sign offs, labels and stickers. We have also provided a press release template and a list of local press contacts to help you publicise the event or activity that we’re keen for you to organise!
It’s completely up to you what you do to help celebrate this event and we have lots of ideas below to help get your creative juices flowing. We’re also giving a prize each for Best Event and Best Window Display so do share your photos for a chance to win!

Encourage people to send seven cards during the week. How about creating an area where people can sit and write their cards over a cup of tea (and maybe some cake!) or team up with your local coffee shop?
Create a Thinking of You Week bower, where people can sit and think of the people they care about and what they want to write in their cards.
Organise a Thinking of You Week card making or writing activity in your local church, school, community centre, or elderly people’s home.
During the week share your stories of events and the seven cards you choose to send. Remember to follow and like us first and tag us in your posts on Facebook and Twitter #ThinkingOfYou #SendingSmiles
Printed Flyers and Posters
The following lovely printer GCA members are also very kindly printing the Thinking of You Week flyers and event posters for their publisher customers free of charge.
Card Wrap and Tag, Digital Colour Services, Graphite Creative, Loxleys, The Imaging Centre, The Sherwood Press and Windles. Just contact them for free flyers and posters and send them in all your retail deliveries to help get the word out during August and September. If you work with a different printer, ask them to print the flyers and posters for you, encourage them to join the GCA and get involved!
Warehousing members LB Warehousing and 2WL will be taking part by sending the flyers and posters in all their retail deliveries.
Using the Toolkit
If you haven’t already received the flyer and poster, do feel free to download these, print and display to promote your event.
Use the social media cover images during August and September to raise the profile of the Week and what you’re going to be doing.
Use the template press release and press contacts list to publicise your event and business to local newspapers and magazines.
During the week share your stories about your event and the seven cards you send via facebook and twitter. Remember to tag us! @GCAUK #ThinkingOfYou #SendingSmiles
