The winners have been announced! We were looking for initiatives that promoted the spirit of National Thinking of You Week
Best Event – the prize goes to Lynn Tait for her brilliant initiative joining up two schools, a church and an old people’s home. This initiative has everything – joining the generations, fighting loneliness in the elderly, building relationships for the future and promoting card sending to young people – well done Lynn, amazing! Your prize is on its way to you.
Best Window Display – the prize goes to Portfolio for a gorgeous window display and the offer to pay the postage on any cards written in their shop on the Golborne Road in Portobello, London. We really liked the way they used the promotional tools we provided in the National Thinking of You Week Toolkit to make a great display. Excellent job Jayne, Natalie and everyone at Portfolio!
Best Event Runner Up – this prize goes to Penny Lindop for her open invitation to her whole village to come and write cards in her home. She provided the cards, tea and cakes and paid the postage for everyone who joined in. Penny also decorated and photographed local post boxes and used this to promote National Thinking of You Week brilliantly via Facebook and Twitter in the lead up to the event. She also played a part in making the event go global, with her daughter who teaches in Taiwan, joining in by teaching the importance of sending cards to her pupils. A big well done to Penny and her family!
