The government are launching a number of initiatives to support businesses and help young people into work. Below we highlight two recent initiatives that may be useful for GCA members:
Could Your Business Receive a £3,000 Youth Jobs Grant?
The Government’s Youth Jobs Grant is now open to employers across Great Britain, offering £3,000 per eligible hire to help cover recruitment and training costs when taking on a young person aged 18-24 through the scheme.
Eligible roles must be at least 25 hours per week and meet the programme criteria. The scheme aims to support up to 60,000 employment opportunities over the next three years.
If you’re looking to grow your team and support a young person into work, this funding could provide a valuable boost to your business.
Free Mental Health Support Webinar for SMEs
The Department of Work and Pensions are partnering with Able Futures, to offer a DWP-funded mental health support service available to employees, apprentices and self-employed people across England, Scotland and Wales.
The service provides up to nine months of confidential support at no cost, helping individuals manage challenges such as stress, anxiety and depression while staying in work.
Able Futures and the DWP are holding a free webinar which will explain:
- What Able Futures offers
- Who can access support
- How individuals can self-refer
- How SMEs can signpost employees to the service
